we were sorting through some stuff the other day when we ran into this early demo of "Gorillla the Bull" (from IE,CN) As we remember, skip laid all the stuff down and colin came in and mumbled over it. i just set it to some footage we also recently found from recording at southern tracks. as you might notice, we have no working knowledge of video editing. live and learn.

So…i (C//xn) think moving back to the other side of the river (I-20) has been good for me, at least for now. i'm glad it's corresponding with making this new record, which we've been doing at an undisclosed space on ponce (where the action is, johnny rivers). you can, if you listen close enough, hear the rolling traffic as background noise and that's a good thing. we did all of the piano for retail detail here and the same was true then- a certain ambiance of street holler. we tried to stick a mic out the window to catch the sounds (they've changed, crack use is waning, i think) and it's just a hum of traffic. no street barkers, just this hum of steady going somewhere. a bit less gritty. but…
back to ponce, where things count, and i might could make some money if things got tight. i did see a prostitute/john hookup the other night that taught me some things. she got in the car and john reached over immediately and put his hands between her legs, I could see clearly. odd, i thought at first and then tried to put myself there. he was searching for a cock, and/or to test the validity of said night lady, you know, if she was willing and able? i guess. anyways, it brought a lump to my throat.
so…back to making this new record. here's what it looks like, well from a certain vantage point.

wait…I can't even see the drumset.
here's a better'n
All the amps are in different rooms, so well, ya just can't see em.
I'll tell you what I do know- I am digging the RE-20 for vocals. i actually got this one for free. found the fucker. local hero frank ski? uses 'em on his show (i catch it on tv here and there).

we may keep the scratch stuff but I like this thing. my voice somehow sits better with a dynamic as compared with those fancy ones. unless we can afford the real fancy ones. but as of now, we cant.
i saw thom yorke wielding an RE-20 handheld!!! on those in rainbows sessions (well, I just noticed recently) which is pretty wild. they have all these side windscreens that make them look like something's happening there. apparently not. i've yet to grab the fucker all willy-nilly but we've got time, i suppose. anyways…
here's one i'll leave you with.
fucking spaghetti junction…and how 'bout that tower?
